WHAT ARE CHEMICAL PEELS?

Delle Chiaie Cosmetic Medicine offers safe, medical-grade chemical peels by Allergan; an innovative company that stands behind its products. This is a stand-alone procedure; however, when combined with Botox, fillers, Latisse, and great home care, your results are compelling. Our Peels are appropriate for mild, moderate, and severe skin imperfections. The treatments are effective in smoothing the appearance or fine lines and wrinkles, as well as to help even the skin’s texture.

WHAT TYPES OF PEELS ARE OFFERED?

The Vitalize Peel
This treatment is appropriate for mild-to-moderate skin imperfections. It is effective in smoothing the appearance or fine lines & wrinkles as well as to help even the skin’s texture. You will see noticeable results with just one peel. However, a series of 3-6 peels will rejuvenate, revitalize and renew your skin. This powerful, yet non-damaging peel can take years off of your aging skin.

BENEFITS:

The treatment takes about 20 minutes and can be done on a lunch break. After your peel, it is important to care for your skin properly. SIMPLE TIPS FOR MAXIMIZING YOUR RESULTS

ONE WEEK BEFORE YOUR CHEMICAL PEEL AVOID THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS AND/OR PROCEDURES:

• Electrolysis
• Waxing
• Depilatory creams
• Laser Hair Removal

Patients who have had Botox injections should wait until the full effect of their treatment is seen before receiving a SkinMedica Peel.

THREE DAYS BEFORE YOUR PEEL AVOID THESE PRODUCTS AND/OR PROCEDURES*:

• Retin-A^®, Renova^®, Differin^®, Tazorac^®
• Any products containing retinol, alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) or beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), or benzoyl peroxide
• Any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating

*Note: The use of these products/treatments prior to your peel may increase skin sensitivity and cause a stronger reaction.

VARIATIONS IN AMOUNT OF PEELING FOR DEEPER PEELS

The degree of peeling may vary from mild flaking to full skin peeling in sheets, depending on the individual’s skin type and skin condition at the time of the peel.

Here are some reasons why some patients experience decreased visible peeling:

• Receiving a peel for the first time
• Severe sun damage (increased visible peeling should develop with subsequent peels)
• Having peels regularly with a short interval between peels
• Frequent use of Retin-A, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA), or other peeling agents prior to the peel treatment

Regardless of the degree of peeling, the skin is still sloughing off at an accelerated rate, which will result in the improvement of skin tone and texture, and diminishment of fine lines and pigmentation.
