What is facial rejuvenation?

Facial rejuvenation refers to the aesthetic procedures used to restore your facial features to their previous youthful appearance. At Delle Chiaie Cosmetic Medicine, we use sublative and CO2 laser technology to address brown spots, loose skin, wrinkles and other imperfections that result from the aging process.

How does sublative rejuvenation work?

Sublative rejuvenation uses fractionated bi-polar radio frequency to penetrate through the skin, sending more energy beneath the surface to maximize collagen production, all while keeping the top layer of your skin intact. This is an important factor in why it’s safe for all skin types, and requires less downtime than other treatment methods for the skin to heal.

CO2 laser Skin Resurfacing

What is the CO2 Laser Resurfacing?

A CO2 laser allows us to reduce or eliminate more pronounced lines and wrinkles. This is done by removing deeper layers of damaged skin and stimulating the regeneration of healthy skin underneath.

This amazing technology here at DCCM is an old but goody and one of the best skin care treatments available for facial resurfacing. The Carbon Dioxide Laser Resurfacing is a device that removes layers of skin tissue in a fractionated method to help reduce age-spots, fine lines, wrinkles, acne-scarring, discoloration, skin laxity and texture. The newest version of the CO2 Laser resurfacing uses short pulsed light energy that is delivered in a scanning pattern to remove thin layers of skin with minimal heat damage. This treatment can be used on the face, neck, and chest. The CO2 Laser resurfacing gives you the most results in a single treatment.  However, you may repeat the treatment should you wish to maximize your results.   This technology allows the laser skin rejuvenation treatment to provide some of the most dramatic, age-defying results possible!

What should I expect during treatment?

Prior to getting treatments done at DCCM, all patients are required to fill-out Medical intake paperwork and sign consents. After everything is signed, our staff will take you to one of our private rooms where they will apply a topical anesthetic for the treated area. After 30-45 minutes, your skin should be completely numb and our staff will gently cleanse the skin in preparation for the treatment. Tara will then assess the area of concern and will begin the treatment. The CO2 Laser resurfacing procedure should take about 20-40 minutes, depending on what area is getting treated. Post treatment, your skin will feel and look extremely red and dry, almost like a bad sunburn. The CO2 Laser resurfacing does require downtime, lasting for about 5-7 days. Redness, dryness, flaking, or peeling is expected after treatment. It is important to follow the post-treatment guidelines that Tara will provide you with. Proper skin care following the treatment is key for healing and excellent outcomes.

How do I know if I am the right candidate for CO2 Laser Resurfacing?

We recommend CO2 Laser resurfacing for anyone with sun-damage, wrinkles, skin laxity, acne scarring, or skin texture concerns, as they will benefit greatly from this treatment. Many patients see improvement of their skin after the first treatment. This is not a recommended treatment for skin of color. The reason being is that the CO2 Laser resurfacing is an aggressive treatment that results in prolonged healing of the skins surface. Colored skin tends to heal with hyper/hypopigmentation as the color in the skin called Melanin reacts negatively with the heat from the treatment. This treatment is also not intended for women who are pregnant or breast feeding
