As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. This leads to facial muscles working closer to the skin surface, making smile lines and crow’s feet more apparent. The skin also stretches a bit, adding to the loss of facial volume. Sun exposure and hereditary and lifestyle factors also affect facial skin. Facial fillers help to reverse all of these concerns. They diminish facial lines, restoring volume and fullness.
If you have lost volume in your lips, it means you are likely mature enough to have volume loss elsewhere. So, it is common to have fillers all over the face. They can create balance. We are all a bit asymmetrical from side to side, and that is normal. The team at DCCM is here to help you feel confident in your skin.

All products used at DCCM are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. HA is the body’s own natural plumper and hydrator. Each product has a unique personality, and it is up to the provider to decide which product will offer you the best benefits. Each and every HA filler we use is COMPLETELY REVERSIBLE at any time.
It is common for your provider to treat an area outside your immediate concern. The area you’re having problems with may be due to an issue in a different location. When we treat the cause instead of the symptom, our patients are much happier with the results and feel more natural.
Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC, Vollure, Volbella, and Voluma XC are gel facial filler products made of hyaluronic acid, responsible for youthful-looking skin. They are incredibly effective at:
These products work instantly and are ideal for treating many areas with facial volume loss.
Restylane, Lyft, Refyne, and Defyne are also HA fillers that restore volume in a different way than the Allergan fillers. Together, we can discuss your needs after your complimentary consultation. The Refyne and Defyne products soften expression lines and improve your overall dynamic lines.
There are many reasons that patients choose fillers, from volume loss to hollows, shadows, wrinkles, and scars, or even makeup bleeding and creasing. Fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of aging or as part of facial rejuvenation surgery. Patients choose dermal fillers because they bring many benefits, including:
These products add volume and have hydrating and softening effects immediately. Advanced technology has made this a comfortable choice for volumizing, with an anesthetic mixed into the product. Instant results last from a year to two years.
Injectable filler procedures are quick, taking about 30 minutes out of your day. They are generally tolerated well, and most report only mild discomfort. Our team is here for you every step of the way! We are happy to answer any questions, address concerns, and ensure you love your experience.
Also known as the nasojugal groove, the tear trough is the inner portion of the lower eyelid. With age or lifestyle changes, the skin and muscles of the lower lid lose elasticity. Eventually, this can lead to puffiness or bulging beneath the eyes, bringing you the dreaded ‘eye bags.’
Since the area becomes uneven as it sags, it can also look shadowy, like you have dark circles under your eyes. Dermal fillers under the eyes decrease the hollowness, diminish the appearance of dark circles, and give you a more awake look.
Patients report minimal pain with face filler treatments. A topical numbing cream is applied 30-40 minutes before the injections. An anesthetic is also mixed into the filler, making the process even more comfortable.

Juvederm Volux contains hyaluronic acid – a natural substance found in the skin – to boost volume and add hydration. Volux is a filler specifically meant as a cosmetic treatment for jawline contouring.
Attain a more chiseled jawline with this quick and minimally invasive contouring treatment. The results of jawline filler last for up to two years. Choosing an experienced and skillful cosmetic injector is important to get the best results and avoid any potential adverse effects.

Don’t judge your facial filler treatment until at least 2-4 weeks post. There is a lot of activity that goes on in the healing face. Even though your bruises may have faded, the results are still settling in. The skin goes through a tremendous amount of trauma with facial fillers.
It is very common for the face to present with uneven swelling. This will subside. It is best practice to have a follow-up appointment at 2-4 weeks unless there is a treatment emergency.
The body reabsorbs HA slowly over time. Each product has a different time frame for reabsorption. Lip fillers typically last 6-9 months, while other fillers in the upper face can last 12-18 months. Many factors play into the length of the filler, such as smoking, tanning, dieting, age, and metabolism. This means there is no set rule and no guarantees on how long your fillers will last, as everyone is vastly different in genetics and lifestyle.
Dermal fillers have an exceptional safety profile and have been popular for over 35 years. In rare cases, fillers can get into a vessel or artery. DCCM is trained and equipped to handle such an event. Adherence to the providers’ guidelines and treatment plan is essential.
Facial fillers should always be done by an experienced provider or under expert supervision (we all must learn at some point). These products are only as good as the injector placing them. The right provider can choose the correct product and then deliver the fillers into the proper plane.
Bruising and swelling are normal after facial fillers. Swelling typically lasts 24 hours, but patients can feel puffy (especially the lips) for 48 hours after treatment. The worst of the swelling is usually the morning after your appointment. Follow your provider’s face filler post-care instructions to maximize your comfort and results.
We do not recommend scheduling filler four weeks before a special occasion. Dermal filler pre-treatment guidelines will help set you up for success.
The experienced providers at DCCM are all licensed, insured, and well-qualified to treat the community. Tara, founder of DCCM and master injector, has created an accredited training program where she trains other Doctors, Nurses, Surgeons, and medical professionals in the art and safety of aesthetics.

There is no right or wrong age to start your facial fillers. The team at DCCM will NOT treat anyone under the age of 18. If you are young, don’t be surprised if you get carded. We want to keep you safe and it is our job to be sure all of our patients are of the legal adult consenting age to receive filler in our practice.
Yes, a professional can reverse your filler, which makes the treatment much safer for patients. DCCM always has plenty of reversal agents on hand in case of a RARE emergency. DCCM has seen an influx of patients from at-home parties and in-experienced providers placing fillers inadequately.
Facial filler is standard, but in the wrong hands, it can be dangerous or leave you with an unpleasant appearance. We don’t expect our patients to know what we know, so we are not here to blame or judge. We are here to educate and help. Should you find yourself in an unfortunate predicament, please bring your before photos and the name of the product you placed, and Tara will reverse it. The charge is $600 for the reversal.
Many people think they will be stretched out or look worse if they stop getting their fillers. The expert providers at DCCM do not overfill, so we do not stretch the skin. If you decide you don’t want the treatments anymore, you will just go back to the way you were before.
The answer is yes, but it doesn’t change the cost. We will not save the filler. The vast majority of patients end up coming back to add more. You are buying the treatment, not the syringe.
We can do more in one sitting due to the spread and landscape of the face. It is very common to have 3-5 syringes of filler. In the right hands, you will be rejuvenated and restored. A little filler in the wrong hands can be a disaster, but a lot in the right hands is a beautiful piece of art.
RADIESSE is a dermal filler that smoothes moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. For most patients, the area of concern is nasolabial folds (the creases that extend from the corner of your nose to the corner of your mouth). But, RADIESSE is also used for correcting volume loss in the back of the hands.
Sculptra is an FDA-cleared injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen—the most common protein in the body used to form a framework to support cells and tissue—for results that can last up to two years.
