The Candela Laser- this C02 uses fractionated ablation to preserve and carefully control “microtraumas” to the treated area to allow the body’s own healing process to heal away imperfections. This laser comes with less downtime, less discomfort, and is great for fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, poor skin texture, and sun damage. Give your skin the toning and tightening it needs with the Candela C02 laser.
What is the CO2 Laser Resurfacing?
This amazing technology here at DCCM is old but a goody and one of the best skin care treatments available for facial resurfacing. The Carbon Dioxide Laser Resurfacing is a device that removes layers of skin tissue in a fractionated method to help reduce age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, discoloration, skin laxity, and texture. The newest version of the CO2 Laser resurfacing uses short pulsed light energy that is delivered in a scanning pattern to remove thin layers of skin with minimal heat damage. This treatment can be used on the face, neck, and chest. The CO2 Laser resurfacing gives you the most results in a single treatment. However, you may repeat the treatment should you wish to maximize your results. This technology allows the laser skin rejuvenation treatment to provide some of the most dramatic, age-defying results possible!
What should I expect during treatment?
Prior to getting treatments done at DCCM, all patients are required to fill-out Medical intake paperwork and sign consents. After everything is signed, our staff will take you to one of our private rooms where they will apply a topical anesthetic for the treated area. After 30-45 minutes, your skin should be completely numb and our staff will gently cleanse the skin in preparation for the treatment. Tara will then assess the area of concern and will begin the treatment. The CO2 Laser resurfacing procedure should take about 20-40 minutes, depending on what area is getting treated. Post-treatment, your skin will feel and look extremely red and dry, almost like a bad sunburn. The CO2 Laser resurfacing does require downtime, lasting for about 5-7 days. Redness, dryness, flaking, or peeling is expected after treatment. It is important to follow the post-treatment guidelines that Tara will provide you with. Proper skin care following the treatment is key for healing and excellent outcomes.
