Facial Fillers
Reduce Wrinkles & Restore Volume with Dermal Fillers
As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. This leads to facial muscles working closer to the skin surface, making smile lines and crow’s feet more apparent. The skin also stretches a bit, adding to the loss of facial volume. Sun exposure and hereditary and lifestyle factors also affect facial skin. Facial fillers help to reverse all of these concerns. They diminish facial lines, restoring volume and fullness.
If you have lost volume in your lips, it means you are likely mature enough to have volume loss elsewhere. So, it is common to have fillers all over the face. They can create balance. We are all a bit asymmetrical from side to side, and that is normal. The team at DCCM is here to help you feel confident in your skin.

It is common for your provider to treat an area outside your immediate concern. The area you’re having problems with may be due to an issue in a different location. When we treat the cause instead of the symptom, our patients are much happier with the results and feel more natural.
Juvéderm® Dermal Fillers
Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC, Vollure, Volbella, and Voluma XC are gel facial filler products made of hyaluronic acid, responsible for youthful-looking skin. They are incredibly effective at:
– Removing dark circles under your eyes
– Volumizing cheeks and lips
– Filling in the nasolabial folds (lines between the nose and mouth)
– Addressing marionette lines (lines between the mouth and chin)
These products work instantly and are ideal for treating many areas with facial volume loss.

Restylane® Dermal Fillers
Restylane, Lyft, Refyne, and Defyne are also HA fillers that restore volume in a different way than the Allergan fillers. Together, we can discuss your needs after your complimentary consultation. The Refyne and Defyne products soften expression lines and improve your overall dynamic lines.
Dermal Filler Benefits
There are many reasons that patients choose fillers, from volume loss to hollows, shadows, wrinkles, and scars, or even makeup bleeding and creasing. Fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of aging or as part of facial rejuvenation surgery. Patients choose dermal fillers because they bring many benefits, including:
– Plumping thin lips
– Reducing sagging jowls
– Softening facial creases and wrinkles (crow’s feet, smoker’s lines, smile lines, etc.)
– Improving the appearance of recessed scars
– Correcting tear trough deformity
– Increasing cheek volume
– Defining the cheekbones
These products add volume and have hydrating and softening effects immediately. Advanced technology has made this a comfortable choice for volumizing, with an anesthetic mixed into the product. Instant results last from a year to two years.
Injectable filler procedures are quick, taking about 30 minutes out of your day. They are generally tolerated well, and most report only mild discomfort. Our team is here for you every step of the way! We are happy to answer any questions, address concerns, and ensure you love your experience.
Tear Trough Correction
Also known as the nasojugal groove, the tear trough is the inner portion of the lower eyelid. With age or lifestyle changes, the skin and muscles of the lower lid lose elasticity. Eventually, this can lead to puffiness or bulging beneath the eyes, bringing you the dreaded ‘eye bags.’
Since the area becomes uneven as it sags, it can also look shadowy, like you have dark circles under your eyes. Dermal fillers under the eyes decrease the hollowness, diminish the appearance of dark circles, and give you a more awake look.
Patients report minimal pain with face filler treatments. A topical numbing cream is applied 30-40 minutes before the injections. An anesthetic is also mixed into the filler, making the process even more comfortable.

Dermal Filler Results and Expectations
Don’t judge your facial filler treatment until at least 2-4 weeks post. There is a lot of activity that goes on in the healing face. Even though your bruises may have faded, the results are still settling in. The skin goes through a tremendous amount of trauma with facial fillers.
It is very common for the face to present with uneven swelling. This will subside. It is best practice to have a follow-up appointment at 2-4 weeks unless there is a treatment emergency.
The body reabsorbs HA slowly over time. Each product has a different time frame for reabsorption. Lip fillers typically last 6-9 months, while other fillers in the upper face can last 12-18 months. Many factors play into the length of the filler, such as smoking, tanning, dieting, age, and metabolism. This means there is no set rule and no guarantees on how long your fillers will last, as everyone is vastly different in genetics and lifestyle.
Risks of Fillers
Dermal fillers have an exceptional safety profile and have been popular for over 35 years. In rare cases, fillers can get into a vessel or artery. DCCM is trained and equipped to handle such an event. Adherence to the providers’ guidelines and treatment plan is essential.
Facial fillers should always be done by an experienced provider or under expert supervision (we all must learn at some point). These products are only as good as the injector placing them. The right provider can choose the correct product and then deliver the fillers into the proper plane.
Downtime After Fillers
Bruising and swelling are normal after facial fillers. Swelling typically lasts 24 hours, but patients can feel puffy (especially the lips) for 48 hours after treatment. The worst of the swelling is usually the morning after your appointment. Follow your provider’s face filler post-care instructions to maximize your comfort and results.
We do not recommend scheduling filler four weeks before a special occasion. Dermal filler pre-treatment guidelines will help set you up for success.
