WHAT IS LATISSE?
Used in the treatment of hypotrichosis (thinning eye lashes), Latisse enhances eye lashes making them fuller, longer and darker. Latisse is the only FDA-approved prescription treatment for hypotrichosis. Through many clinical trials, its safety and effectiveness have been demonstrated over and over. When used correctly, treatments can provide you with the eyelashes you’ve always wanted!
HOW DOES LATISSE WORK?
Treatments are applied by dabbing the serum on the upper lash line with a sterile applicator. The prescription drug will spread to the lower lash when you blink. Like the hair on your head, your eyelashes will sprout and grow for a bit but will then fall out. Latisse can extend the growth phase for your lashes and brows and it can increase the number of hairs that sprout.
Treatments affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways. First, it increases the length of the growth phase which helps to give you longer eyelashes. If you feel as if your lashes have never fully reached your desired length, this treatment may be perfect for you. Second, this prescription increases the number of hairs in this phase, which helps to give you thicker, fuller lashes. If you want to treat thinning lashes, Latisse may be perfect for you.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE RESULTS?
The results are usually gradual. Within a couple of months, you may begin to notice a significant improvement to your eyelashes or brows. At Delle Chiaie Cosmetic Medicine in Hampton, New Hampshire, Tara Delle Chiaie provides Latisse treatments to her patients. Following your appointment, Tara will also provide you with a prescription so that you can apply this serum at home. It should be used each night for optimal results.
