What exactly is CO2RE Intima?
Many people have seen our advertisements about the CO2RE Intima that treats women’s intimate wellness. Our practice is one of the few on the Seacoast that offers this new technology. This quick, in-office treatment performed by our Board Certified Nurse Practioner, Tara uses laser energy to help women who experience discomfort and other symptoms experienced from child-birth or menopause. This medical laser delivers controlled CO2 energy to the vaginal or vulva tissue, overall improving skin tone, texture, and appearance. CO2RE Intima is the first device ever to treat all three areas of a women’s intimate needs- external, internal, and introitus.
Is the CO2RE Intima treatment safe?
The CO2RE Intima device has been FDA approved for a range of gynecological and genitourinary indications. The treatments by the CO2RE device are safe and effective, while offering a range of solutions for intimate aesthetic procedures. The CO2RE Intima can restore vaginal connective tissue to improve vaginal health, flexibility, and shape. The gentle laser energy by the CO2RE Intima device is delivered to the vaginal wall that stimulates a healing response and enhances moisture levels in the vaginal canal. This treatment has proven to be safe with immediate and long-lasting results.
What should I expect during the CO2RE Intima treatment?
When a patient comes into DCCM, they should expect to fill out paperwork and consent prior to getting treated. After all is filled out, patients will be brought back to meet with Tara to discuss the treatment and she will also perform the procedure as well. Patients will experience little to no discomfort, which requires no anesthesia except topical numbing and typically takes around 15 minutes to treat both internally and externally. Our patients will see improvements after one treatment with the CO2RE Intima device, although we recommend three in-office treatments spaced three to four weeks apart for best results.
What should I expect after the CO2RE Intima treatment?
After the treatment, patients should expect some swelling and redness in the vaginal area. This typically lasts 24 to 72 hours, in which the healing process begins. Patients can return to normal activities after the CO2RE Intima treatment, but should refrain from sexual activity for 7 days. After the third in-office treatment, we like patients to come back annually for a maintenance treatment for long-lasting results.
