Meet our Licensed Massage Therapist
Lori Watkins specializes in injury recovery and chronic pain management and utilizes a variety of muscle specific techniques in her massage therapy sessions.
Lori’s style is based in orthopedic massage. She uses professional draping techniques and oil or lotion and incorporates other modalities including deep tissue, PNF stretches as well as passive and active release techniques to relax and reeducate muscles. Depending upon your individual needs your massage therapy session may incorporate Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point work, cupping, hot stones or myofascial massage techniques to help remove pain lodged deep within your body.
With a myofascial massage Lori gently works to unwind bound fascia, allow more breath to restricted areas, and will have you leaving with a feeling of newness in your body’s architecture.
With orthopedic massage as the foundation, your session MAY include deeper tissue work, Trigger Point therapy, friction, or PNF stretching.
Lori takes a very personal approach with her clients and sees many of them on a regular basis she enjoys helping them to reach their physical goals and to find balance in their bodies. Many of her clients are recovering from injuries or dealing with chronic pain issues and she often works in conjunction with their healthcare professionals to rehabilitate muscles. Lori often recommends exercises, stretches and lifestyle changes to help support her massage therapy sessions. When appropriate, Lori will refer her clients to one of her network of holistic healthcare professionals.
As Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association, Lori has had training in Strain-counterstrain, Neuromuscular, Myofascial, Thai yoga massage, joint mobilization, ligament frictioning, sports injury and prenatal massage.
